In large businesses, goods often have to be moved between warehouses. And this is far from a free function, because you need to pay for the driver’s work, loaders, the road, the truck, etc. Therefore, it is important to carry out this work in such a way as not to incur losses.

Problem
Why might the need to move your goods arise at all? One of the reasons is increased demand for a product in some regions compared with others. Then the goods have to be moved to where demand for them is higher. Other reasons may include: incorrectly calculated warehouse space, the end of the lease term, sale of the warehouse premises, etc.
Solution
In order to avoid mistakes when moving goods from one warehouse to another, you need to record all data and keep accounts. In “FORMA”, a whole section is provided for this — “Transfers”. In terms of functionality, it is similar to “Purchases”. Therefore, it will not be difficult to understand it. So, in order to perform a transfer, first you need to choose from which warehouse and to which warehouse it will take place, and give it a name. The creation date will be inserted automatically. Then you need to select the state the transfer is in. This can be “Clarifying the product composition” or “Posted”.

In the “Product” section, you need to select the required items, quantity, and enter overhead costs. After filling it in, the “Total” line will be displayed at the bottom, where the total amount of overhead costs will be specified. This is how easily you can enter data on transfers between warehouses. It will take a few minutes, but afterward all the data will be at hand.
