Should a manager know how to program?
An eternal debate. A manager does not have to write code, but they must understand the system architecture at a basic level.
Why does a PM need technical knowledge?
- To distinguish real difficulties from developers' "fairy tales."
- To estimate timelines and risks more accurately together with the team.
- To speak the same language as the tech lead.
